This exhibition is dedicated to the evocative work of Carlotta Roda, a young Italian photographer who, with her artistic sensitivity, has developed a unique and reflective approach to photography, transforming each image into a window open to the infinite. The term “metamorphosis” takes on a multiplicity of meanings, each of which fits different contexts, offering a rich array of interpretations. In the field of cosmology, metamorphosis is closely linked to the transformations the Universe has undergone, or continues to undergo, over time. These transformations include vast phenomena such as the evolution of galaxies, the formation of stars and planets, the expansion of the Universe itself, and many other cosmic processes that shape the structure and destiny of the Universe. Metamorphosis, in this case, represents a profound and incessant change that occurs on immense temporal and spatial scales, beyond ordinary human comprehension. […] In a more philosophical and reflective context, the concept of metamorphosis can be extended to the transformation of our perception and understanding of the Universe. It is not merely a tangible change, observable in natural phenomena, but a deep evolution involving the meanings, interpretations, and knowledge that humanity constructs and reconstructs over time. Metamorphosis, in this sense, is not only an external process occurring in the Universe, but also an inner journey, a transformation of our vision of the world and of our place within it. […] Ultimately, the metamorphosis of the Universe and the metamorphosis of our understanding of it are two sides of the same coin, two inextricably linked aspects of a process that is at once cosmic and human, external and internal, material and spiritual. This incessant process of transformation, both in the microcosm of our minds and in the macrocosm of the Universe, constitutes the very essence of life and knowledge, a never-ending path toward an ever deeper and more complex understanding of the mystery of existence. Carlotta Roda stands out for her ability to go beyond the surface of things, using photography as a powerful tool to explore and question reality. Her work is a continuous journey in search of hidden meanings, of imaginary worlds that she manages to evoke through images that capture the essence of the invisible. Each shot is an invitation to reflect, to ask profound questions about existence and about our relationship with the immense and mysterious Universe that surrounds us. The heart of Carlotta Roda’s work lies in her ability to engage the viewer in a deep reflection on themselves and their place in the world. Her photographs create a bridge between two seemingly opposite dimensions: the cosmic vastness and the intimacy of the everyday. […] The work does not merely celebrate the wonder of the Universe, but also becomes an invitation to question ourselves on fundamental issues of our existence, on our relationship with the world around us, and on how we live our present in relation to a cosmos that is both near and distant, familiar and unknown. This dialogue between microcosm and macrocosm, between humanity and the Universe, lies at the core of Carlotta Roda’s artistic research, making her work a powerful example of how art can explore and reveal the deep connections between the individual and the infinite.
